"Practice" draft: Our vision is that all Western North Carolina K-12 educators (with support from area IHEs) will embed technology in everyday instructional practice, and will be supported and encouraged through ongoing technology professional development.
Our vision theme list might include:
- desire prosperous technology saavy region that retains its local character
- knowledgeable people with a priority to use the best of information age systems to seek out and solve problems for personal, community and entrepreneurial growth

Strategies/Activities
3.1 This will be a long-range goal. Activities needed to implement this goal will include
- find most of the funding through other sources (job of Executive Steering Committee, p.12)
- identification and prioritizing of possible uses of technology for learning;
- to provide awareness training and coaching for teachers and other target users;
- to establish application roadmaps and benchmarks of technology application,
- and to collect effectiveness data on specific strategies.

The purpose of the distance learning office at SCC is to introduce instructors and students to appropriate distance learning tools and to provide training in their use. The distance learning office at SCC will strive to be a central resource for information about distance learning opportunities and a liaison with outside agencies for issues relating to distance leaning at SCC.
The vision for distance learning at SCC is to provide learners with opportunities to achieve learning outcomes through a variety of text, voice, video, and data delivery options to match individual learning needs.
